Details

Indesit Company is aware of a small number of gas cookers purchased during October and November 2013 and sold in the United Kingdom (UK), where a component may fail. This may lead to a gas leak and in a very small number of cases a potential safety hazard. Our absolute priority is to locate and modify every gas cooker that is affected.  We have already located and repaired approximately 90% of the affected models and now need to locate the remaining very small number of products.

What to do

To check if you own an affected product:

  • Check the model number and serial number of your Hotpoint, Indesit or Cannon Cooker.  This can be found on a sticker on the inside of the TOP oven door as outlined below
  • If your product is affected please immediately call the dedicated Customer Service line: 01733 287 843

18.11.13 Hotpoint DWF3 and DC26 Dishwashers

The manufacturer has issued the following recall notice:

Hotpoint are aware of a small number of cases of dishwashers where an electrical component has failed. This may lead to overheating and in rare cases a potential fire hazard. Our absolute priority is to locate and modify every dishwasher that is affected.

If you own a Hotpoint DWF3 series or DC26 dishwasher manufactured between Jan 1999 to Sept 2003 and sold in the UK, with any of the model numbers (as highlighted below):

What to do

To check if you own an affected product:

• When checking, firstly as a precaution, make sure it is turned off and disconnected from the wall socket.

The following recall notice has been issued by the manufacturer:

It has come to our attention that particular Beko, Leisure and Flavel cookers with a separate oven and grill can, if they are not operated in accordance with the user instructions, pose a serious risk to your health.

What to do

1. FOLLOW THE PRODUCT INSTRUCTION MANUAL AND DO NOT OPERATE THE GRILL WITH THE GRILL DOOR CLOSED

When the grill burner is on, the grill door must always be in the open position. If the grill is operated with the grill door closed, the air supply to the grill burner is restricted which can cause extremely dangerous levels of carbon monoxide to be produced which can pose a very serious risk to health.

2. ARRANGE FOR A FREE SAFETY INSPECTION AND MODIFICATION

13.05.13 Indesit and Hotpoint Washing Machines

Details

Indesit and Hotpoint have recalled some of their washing machines because the drum can tear apart – in some instances causing debris to fly from the machine.

The machines affected were produced between 2007 and 2009. To find out if your machine has the potential fault you need the model number and serial number.

These can be found either on a sticker on the left hand side of the inside of the door or engraved on top.

What to do

Once you have the model and serial number enter them into the search tool on either the Indesit or Hotpoint website to find out if you have an affected model. The website will then inform you what action you should take.

15.04.13 Hotpoint FDW20/FDW60/FDW65A Dishwashers

Details

The following recall notice has been issued by the manufacturer:

As the leading white goods manufacturer, Hotpoint continually monitors the specification and performance of its products. Through this approach, we have identified that there is a low risk that modules fitted to a limited number of Hotpoint FDW20 / FDW60 / FDW65A dishwashers manufactured between June 2006 and May 2008 and sold in the United Kingdom may cause overheating and in rare cases a potential fire hazard.

What to do

To check if you own an affected product:

04.04.13 Hoover Fridge Freezer

Details

The manfacturer has issued the following recall notice:

This is an important Safety Notice, relative to some specific Hoover Frost Free refrigeration appliances produced between week 34 2011 and week 34 2012.

We have identified in a batch of appliances manufactured between the dates above that there is a possibility of a potential fault developing on the defrost heater element supplied to Hoover. Overheating can occur and in certain circumstances this could result in a fire.

In order to prevent this possibility we kindly request that you establish if your appliance is affected by using our appliance check on our website.

Details

The manufacturer has issued the following safety notice:

It has come to our attention that a purchased connector component has been supplied to us which is not to our specification and that this has been fitted to 1800 White Knight Condenser dryers built in Oct 2010 and June 2011. We believe that the use of this connector can potentially lead to overheating of the appliance and if left unresolved could create a potential fire hazard over time. We wish to find all of the affected dryers within the serial numbers below, and replace them free of charge to eliminate the risk.

01.02.12 Bosch, Neff and Siemens – Dishwashers

Details

The manufacturer has issued the following safety notice:

Bosch is voluntarily undertaking a free in-home repair programme of affected dishwashers which were manufactured between 1999 and early 2005. The affected dishwashers are certain models in the batch number range from FD 7901 to FD 8504.

An electrical component on a limited number of Bosch, Neff and Siemens branded dishwashers may overheat and in very rare cases cause a potential fire hazard.

To identify if you are the owner of one of the affected dishwashers, please do the following:

  • Go to your dishwasher and get your model details and batch number. These details can be found either engraved on the top or on a sticker on the left hand side of the inner part of the door.
  • Check whether your batch number range lies within FD 7901 to FD 8504 – if not, you are not affected by this safety notice.

What to do

If your batch number falls within the range above, please visit www.repairaction.co.uk and enter your model number together with your batch number to verify whether your particular dishwasher is affected. From here you will be able to arrange your free of charge repair immediately.

TThe manufacturer has issued the following safety notice:

Over the last few weeks Beko has been made aware of a small number of incidents involving our 6kg & 7kg Condenser Tumble Dryers manufactured between May 2012 and October 2012, where an electrical component has failed and overheated, leading to a potential risk of fire.

We believe that the risk of failure is low but, as a responsible manufacturer, we have decided to initiate a voluntary corrective action program as a precautionary measure.

These products were independently tested before being placed on the market and meet all UK and European safety standards. Nevertheless, we take the safety of our products very seriously and would like to offer a free of charge in-home modification to remove any potential risk with this component.

We urge you to contact us immediately about this important issue.

What to do

Check the model number and serial number of your 6kg & 7kg Condenser Tumble Dryer. The serial number is on the rating plate (see below) and is 10 digits long. The first 2 digits of the serial number give the year of production and the last 2 digits give the month of production. All affected products were manufactured between May and October 2012. The manufacturer has issued the following safety notice:

It has come to our attention that in a very small number of incidents, involving certain models of Beko branded frost free fridge freezers, it may be possible for the defrost timer (located at the back of the fridge) to fail, overheat and cause a potential fire hazard.

These products were independently tested before being placed on the market and met all UK and European safety standards when the products were sold. Nevertheless, as a responsible manufacturer which takes the safety of our products very seriously, we wish to make a free in-home modification to remove any potential risk with this component.

We urge you to contact us immediately about this important issue.

We are seeking to contact owners of these products to carry out a free of charge modification to the defrost timer and we urge anyone who has one of these affected fridge freezers to register their details on this online checker or call us direct.

We deeply regret any incident involving any Beko product and we are working with all relevant organisations to rectify an identified problem with some of our fridge freezers. Quality, customer safety and satisfaction is paramount to Beko; all our products are independently tested before being placed on the market and meet all UK and European safety standards. 492,000 products have been sold and most have been safely in use, some for over ten years.

The Beko frost free fridge freezer models affected were manufactured between January 2000 and October 2006. These have a serial number that begins with either 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05 or 06. and this information can be found on a label inside the fridge. Beko is making a free of charge modification to all affected models, this modification takes approximately 30mins.

Other Beko branded models and all Beko frost free fridge freezers manufactured after this date are unaffected.
