11.09.14 Siemens Dishwashers

Details

The manufacturer has issued the following safety notice:

Siemens Home Appliances has announced an in-home repair programme of certain dishwashers manufactured between 1999 and early 2005 for models purchased and used in the United Kingdom only. The affected dishwashers are in the batch number range from FD 7901 to FD 8504.

Dishwashers which are outside the above batch number range are not affected.

Please note, this repair action was announced in July 2011 so if you have already had a repair you do not need to act. A completed repair of affected models will have a blue sticker with the letter R stuck to the inside panel of the dishwasher door.

Dishcare Safety Action

We have identified that an electrical component on a limited number of Siemens branded dishwashers manufactured between 1999 and 2005 may overheat and in very rare cases cause potential risk of fire.

We are committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality craftsmanship and reliability across all of our products. This is why we have taken steps and issued this voluntary free safety action. We deeply regret any inconvenience this safety action may cause you and thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience.
